茶図は、デザイナーである私が石川県加賀市の茶農家さん達と出会ったことから始まりました。江戸時代から続く茶畑を守り、未来へ繋げたいという打越製茶組合の農家さん達です。
加賀でつくられた紅茶を最初にいただいた時の衝撃は、今も忘れられません。ふわっと甘い香りに包まれ、まろやかな風味が口の中に広がると、体の隅々までほどけていくような感覚を受けたのでした。
私は、加賀の茶産地再興に挑戦する茶農家さんに伴走することを決めました。それが茶図のスタートです。
The Japanese blacktea brand chazu began when a designer and a tea farmer met. They are tea farmers in Kaga, Ishikawa, Japan, who want to protect their tea plantations, which have been in existence since the Edo period, and connect them to the future.
I still remember the shock I felt when I first had a cup of black tea made in Kaga. The sweet aroma enveloped me, and as the mellow flavour spread to my mouth, I felt as if every inch of my body was being unwound.
I decided to support tea farmers who are trying to revive the tea production area in Kaga. That was the start of this tea brand.
